Hi and thanks for stopping by!
We are Anna and Matthias, the two writers behind this European travel blog.
One Week In is a slow travel blog in style.
That is it in a nutshell.
Our goal is to include you in our week trips through the world, one destination at a time. We are two working location-independent writers and we love to explore this world slowly.
Here at One Week In we are collecting all our travel memories, experiences, and recommendations.
The people behind One Week In – Now
Anna is a travel, adventure and fashion lover with a nerdy passion for languages – 6 languages and counting. She called several places across Europe and the world her home, and with age 16 she lived in the USA as well. Today, Anna lives and works location-independent.
Matthias loves bad puns in every language (even php), vintage cafés, and handmade design. At the age of 24 he decided to fulfill his childhood dream and move to Barcelona. Anna and Matthias launched their online business in 2014, the kick-off to the location-independent lifestyle.
The early days
One Week In was born and created in 2014 as part of BrandBase in cooperation with Lund University School of Economics and Management in the Netherlands. The four Master Students Anika, Aylin, Leonie, and Marlene were studying the program “Globalization, Brands and Consumption” at Lund University, and handed over the project to Anna & Matthias, followers of One Week In. Since then Anna and Matthias keep up One Week In, presenting you slowly one destination at a time.
As we all love traveling and have seen quite a few interesting places around the world, we would love to share our favorite places and insider tips of each city with other passionate travelers in order to make each city an unforgettable experience!
Anika – Her favorite experiences were snorkeling with sharks and turtles in Australia and rock-climbing in Bali.
Aylin – Loved spending a year in California and enjoyed travelling different places across the US.
Leonie – Spent 3 months in Cape Town – the most beautiful city in the world.
Marlene – Next project: Biking from Stuttgart to Istanbul
